# Total Expert

> Use the Total Expert Client ID and Client Secret issued for your organization.

Total Expert connections use a **Client ID** and **Client Secret**. Your normal Total Expert username and password will not work in this form.

## Let's connect your account

<Steps>
  <Step title="Get your API client credentials">
    These values are not your Total Expert sign-in credentials. Total Expert creates the client ID and secret pair for the integration. Ask your Total Expert account manager or your organization's Total Expert integration administrator for the pair issued for your organization.

    You can copy and send this request:

    ```text theme={null}
    Please provide the Total Expert API Client ID and Client Secret issued as a matching pair for our [production/test] organization, with access to the CRM data we intend to sync. Please send the Client Secret through an approved secure channel rather than ordinary email or chat.
    ```

    Replace `[production/test]` with the environment you are connecting. Do not send your normal Total Expert username and password; those values will not work in this connection form.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter the credentials and save">
    In the product you are connecting, choose **Total Expert**. Enter the issued API values using this mapping:

    * Total Expert **Client ID** → **Client ID**
    * Total Expert **Client Secret** → **Client Secret**

    Select **Save**.

    When the connection window closes or Total Expert appears as connected in the product, the setup is complete.

## If the connection does not finish
